Toyota Scrappage Scheme

The Government's Car Scrappage scheme is a great opportunity for you to save at least £2,000 on a safer, more reliable and more efficient vehicle. With low emissions and taxation, great fuel economy and enhanced performance, thanks to Toyota Optimal Drive technology, plus advanced safety features and some of the cleanest, most reliable engines available, a new Toyota is the smart choice. What's more, you'll be doing your bit for the environment and supporting the UK automotive industry.

So what's it all about? Out with the old...

The Scrappage scheme applies to cars and commercial vans up to 3.5 tonnes registered in the UK on or before 31st August 1999. You needn't have owned the vehicle from new, just for the last 12 months or more, and you must also have a UK address. The vehicle will need a current MOT certificate and be road-taxed, or off the road with a Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN). The scheme runs on a first come first served basis from May 18th 2009, until March 2010, or until Government funding is used.

...and in with the new

If you qualify for the scheme, your Toyota centre will take care of all the paperwork and arrange for your old vehicle to be scrapped responsibly by an Authorised Treatment Facility from the Autogreen network. Using best practices and following UK legislation, 85% of the vehicle weight will be either reused recycled or recovered.

The process is simple. Just visit your chosen Toyota centre with the relevant paperwork and pick your new vehicle. Our range has options to suit all lifestyles and needs, all with a minimum of £2,000 Scrappage saving, and even more on selected models. Whether it's a nippy city car, a tough everyday MPV or a versatile, stylish family car, Toyota has the answer. In fact, we're leading the way with cleaner, more efficient and reliable engines that bring running costs down, without compromising on driving pleasure.

1. To qualify, you need to be able to answer 'yes' to these five questions:
• Is your car or small van ten years old or more?
• Have you been the registered keeper (owner) of the car continuously for at least the last year?
• Does your car or van have a current MOT certificate?
• Is your vehicle road-taxed or off the road with a Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN)?
• Do you have a UK address?
