Hello from the Cotswolds

Postby xtrailmike » Mon May 16, 2011 10:12 pm

Good evening everyone.

It is great to find an IQ forum.
We bought our basic silver IQ a year ago and frequently tow it behind our motorhome using an A frame.

For the 2 of us and the dog it is the perfect runaround and it is so easy to park !!!

I admit that for long journeys we use our Nissan X-Trail but the small IQ engine is just fine for short journeys.

Nothing has gone wrong during the 6000 miles that we have used it. I love driving it (in fact it was love at first test drive)

Has anyone used the emergency tyre puncture kit yet? Did it work ok?

We get about 54 mpg - is that the norm?

I need a spare key. Has anyone had experience of buying a blank and programming it?

Looking forward to hearing from you

You would probably need to go to Toyota for the key, but I'd expect about £200. (Unless you want a cheap copy key coded from a key cutters, which is more likely to fail and leave you stranded in my opinion!).

54mpg is pretty good. Driving really carefully can mean the quoted 65mpg is achievable, my normal figures are 50 to 55mpg.

Short journies only? I've driven mine from England to the Nuerburgring in Germany, done 12.5 laps and come home all in great comfort!
