So long to wait ... She's here!!

Postby sian0265 » Tue Oct 06, 2009 8:18 am

Hello out there, *waves* to you all

Ordered my IQ3 in red last week and I have to wait till January  ! 15-16 weeks for delivery  ! And that's with absolutely no add-ons at all.

I could have had one in black this week, but there was a red second-hand IQ on the forecourt and, although I usually don't even like red cars, it was love at first sight. I'm handing over my Clio that I've had 15 1/2 years and I will be sad to see her go, but realistically the two grand for scrappage is too good to pass up, so the time has come.

IQ3 is going to be called Ruby (well, what else do you call a red cube?) and I'm looking at buying the glovebag and boot mat for her. Anyone done their own ipod link so that the ipod plays through the car speakers? Is it difficult/expensive/best left to the professionals?

Will post photos when she arrives - don't hold your breath! :D

Linking up your ipod is easy, just plug in the double ended jack plug to the socket by the gear stick, choose AUX on the stereo and off you go!

Thanks zowee, sounds like even I can't make a hash of that!

Delivery date confirmed as 21st January, so definitely not for xmas or before the vat rise  . Very, very  of those of you that have already got yours, but I'm sure she'll be worth the wait.

Hi everyone, new here. Am taking delivery of an IQ3 with all the trimmings on the 30th. Happy Christmas to me. This is the second car I've ever bought and never got this excited about my first.

Ruby's here at last! :D

I picked her up on Friday, gave her all her little welcome pressies such as new car gel and boot mat (and cuddly chicken  ), and stored her out of the rain under the carport. I've read the manual and come away with the distinct impression she's more clever than I am, with all the auto this and sensing that. Still trying to get the feel of power steering/traction control/six gears etc, having driven a basic diesel Clio with none of that for 16 years, and very happy with my new little cute baby car on the couple of journeys we've had. Long may the love affair last! :D
