Newbie signing on

Postby sylviaw » Tue Aug 11, 2009 5:46 pm

Hi everybody, just signed up.
My name is Sylvia
Took delivery of my silver iq in June, got some fantastic alloys on, now need to sell the iq alloys, anyone know if there is a forum to do this? Had no luck on ebay, think it's because there is a Toyota badge in the centre. :(
Only negative comment is few black points for visibility, still learning to park it now!
Can't decide if I should have had a white one, oh well !
Looking forward to chatting to you all.

Hi Sylvia

Welcome along. What wheels did you go for? It would be good to see some pics. As for your alloys feel free to post them here.

[color=#8000FF]Hi there, thanks very much, yay my first message.

I have an unused set of Toyota 15 inch alloys with locking nuts for sale if anyone is interested. Taken off my new IQ.
Only delivery mileage on them.
Will sell for around £120 inc locking nuts.

Will fit the Aygo I believe too.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Bye

Hi Sylvia!

I'm due to pick up my new iQ in black next week and I've also been wondering if I should have gone for white (one expert car review says "looks particularly attractive in white") but think about it in winter all covered in muddy splashes and then the flies stuck to the bonnet in summer. My last Toyota was silver and I think it's the best colour for not showing the dirt. I'm getting black partly to please my daughter!

I'm picking mine up in 2 weeks and one day's time! woo! cannot wait! (not that i'm counting!!!)

Gone for a white one - have had white cars in the past, and, along with silver found that they do not show as much dirt as you would think - unfortunately i would say that the black ones show more dirt (strangely!) and require more polishing etc to keep them looking 'black'. Did see a black IQ when i went to drop off my insurance stuff and i must say, they look damn good in black! almost wish i had gone for it! ah well!

Still not seeing a lot of them down this way (sussex) many Aygos etc though! glad i chose an IQ! will see how i cope with no boot to store anything in - should be interesting!

:D

I'm chopping in a Rover 200 - R Reg... seems a shame as it was in fairly good condition until the idiots round my way kept denting it! done about 72k from new... had quite a bit of stuff done to it in recent years... and was getting to the point where i thought that i can't throw more money at it to keep it going and, lets face it.. you can't 'polish a turd' as my other half would say! just thinking that i should swap the 'rover' alloys with someone who has steel wheels... seems a shame to get rid of them! Gone for the government scrappage scheme offer as, lets face it... my car is worth about 50p - so to get £2k for it, why not! (so i'll be poor for like, ever! but hey!) very excited about having something that i can hand back if anything goes wrong with it!!! and to have something with electric windows and air con! hurrah!!!! creature comforts at last!!!

Shall keep you all updated as to how its going! 15 days! 15 days!!! wooo!!!

:o)
